Meditation

Significant help for our body, mind and spirit is commonly achieved through meditation.  Doctors often advise it.  I have worked individually with clients, in addition to teaching meditation through the town of Danville, California.

Meditation can:

  • Reduce stress hormones
  • Reduce pulse rate
  • Change brain-wave patterns
  • Lower or normalize blood pressure
  • Encourage a positive mind set
  • Promote deep relaxed sleep

If you need help with any of the above, it can be a signal it's time to add work with someone like me. I use guided imagery and visualization to help clients and students to deeply relax. Often music is also helpful. One client I worked with asked me to make a custom meditation tape for her to help her prepare for surgery. The tape emphasized relaxation, conserving her blood and visualizing a successful surgery. She later reported, "The tape was truly remarkable... it really made a difference... it was the biggest part of why I felt as good as I did... I lost less than 400cc of blood in a 4 1/2 hour operation and had very little drainage afterward... I felt calm and comforted."

Wow! Not everyone is as skilled at aligning the body/mind connection as she was, but practice helps. If you think it might be something you'd like to explore, call to arrange a time when we can meet.
